Mighty
Society
is a
queer represented and erotic forward
fine art photography and visual design studio.

Our
Mighty
Vision

We are the creation of Joey Alexander and his husband, Rylan Haas.

At Mighty Society our primary mission is to use art and photography as a device to push back against perceptions placed on queer individuals by a hetero-normative society. We offer a safe space for queer people to feel 100% expressive, sexy, comfortable and in love with who they are as well as have a fantastic time.

We conceptually address the limits on our self-awareness, self=gratification, self-discovery and sexuality that we as queer individuals place on ourselves because of that society.

What would we be like if we were always who we’ve wanted to be.

A Mighty Duo

10 years
together creates amazing ideas. It takes us both to get them written down, make them come to life, and remember to feed the puppies.

Joey Alexander

Artist & Co-Founder

I’ve been an artist as long
as I can remember.

Painting, drawing, and even starting my life as a graphic designer at the age of 8 when I designed a collection of Swatches for an art competition.

After receiving a BFA in for Communication Design and Illustration, I promptly entered the corporate world. At the beginning I found work in fashion and agency. As industry demand changed I promptly switched to UX and product design where I’ve worked ever since.

After 18 years of the tech industry and recognizing how far my career strayed away from my fine art past I decided it was time to come back. As a fine artist I’ve always found respect and inspiration in the male form in  classical depictions as well as erotica. I’m also very motivated by my nostalgia of the 1980’s. Put those together and you have Mighty Society.

While creating photos, I gently nudge societal boundaries as any artist might. Depending on the flow of the session we might even shove those boundaries as hard as we can.

Rylan Cawley

Manager & Co-Founder

Inspiration comes from everywhere.

I grew up queer in a small Texas town. I played sports in high school, skated, rode ATV’s and spent summers at the lake, doing all the things a “good Texas boy” does. Surrounded by traditionally hetero men it’s easy to feel like you’ll never get to be yourself.  I think thats what’s always pointed me in the direction of creating art in my bedroom, on my own.

I was inspired early on by Banksy, Kaws and Alex Pardee. My focus shifted to fashion with Gucci, Virgil Abloh, Vuitton, and into hype stylings and collaborations from Supreme and Adidas. Lately I’ve turned my focus inwards with reflecting on vintage porn of Tom of Finland.

Realizing a vision of Mighty Society with my husband Joey, I’ve put my day job as accountant to use. I manage the business as well as being a creative and collaborative partner.
